CURRENT PROJECTS

Social Responsibility in Flower Trade
The German Association of Flower Traders BGI e.V. wants to support its members in finding more sustainable business procedures. In context of the Annual General Meeting of the Association which took place in Berlin in Silke Peters designed a complete program referring to this issue. The conference was very successful and ended with a declaration of the Association on its commitment towards a more sustainable performance. Please read more about the conference and its outcomes in the documentation (PDF, 16 MB, in German language).  Actually, Silke Peters supports the Association in meeting the goals that have been defined during the conference. 

Coordination on behalf of MPS
The Dutch Foundation Milieu Programma Sierteelt (MPS) works with a registration system for the horticultural sector. Participating companies enter in a data base all environmentally relevant data of usage (plant protection products, energy, water) and are classified according to a specific key. The system is an instrument for transparency in the supply chain. It bases on continuous improvement. MPS offers furthermore certificates that relate to GAP-regulations (good agricultural practice), social compliance or reliability.2nd floor is responsible for coordination tasks within German speaking countries. Part of this is the support of the participants of MPS system. 

StartUp Organic Flower Onlineshop
Supervision of an organic flower farm which exclusively offers certified organic or FLP certified flowers with the medium-term goal of starting up flower shipment. The project focuses on concept development, funding models, online-community design and long-term website management (content, request handling and blog).

Horticultural Seminar Series
Development of a seminar series on sustainable economic management, and horticultural and floral business certification in cooperation with www.beyond-flora.com.

Assisting ISEAL Monitoring Process
The International Social and Environmental Accreditation and Labelling Alliance ISEAL is an affiliation of certification organizations. The umbrella organization decides which criteria standards must meet in order to effectively fulfill its goals; for example: inclusion of each relevant interest group, transparent decision-making process etc. The external group of experts examines to which extent the member organizations meet the standards of the ISEAL code of conduct.

Ehrenfeld Network for Fashion & Style MODusThe Design Quartier Ehrenfeld © Sabine Voggenreiter DQE organizes this years' local fashion event MODus where independent designers present their products using different locations spread over Cologne's district Ehrenfeld. All exhibits are produced in a sustainable way, most of them are fair and organic. Silke Peters is member of the team that coordinates the event. 

Global learning in Vocational Training
Seminar management for a four-day workshop with trainees from five European countries. Subject of the workshop: “Sustainable economic management in bakers’ specialty stores, gastronomy and food technology”. These measures within the framework of an EU-Project are coordinated by the Information Center on Development Policy in Berlin (EPIZ) and the Berlin International Cooperation Agency GmbH (BGZ).
